I am running the latest developer version of Dolphin on Windows 10, and it keeps white screening every game I try. I tried deleting the Dolphin-x64 and Dolphin Emulator folders from my computer, and I tried deleting every registry entry with Dolphin in it, and the problem persists. It doesn't matter what graphics driver I choose whether it's Direct3D 11 or OpenGL. It's the same problem.

Try verifying your games from the dolphin properties menu and updating your graphics drivers.

Try the latest Dev build (5.0-17772 as of this post)
Try running the DISM tool and sfc tool to make sure that your Windows installation hasn't recently gotten an issue with system files: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topi...6e85d4094e Then try doing a Restart (not Shutdown, an actual Restart to clear any Windows Cache issues) If not that, it wouldn't hurt to verify your game files to make sure there isn't any recent issues with your files (Right-click each game in Dolphin's list > Properties > Verify Tab > Verify) 01-01-2023, 11:24 AM

I also ran the DISM tool and sfc /scannow multiple times. Nothing has changed. I still get the white screen of death every time I attempt to run a game in any non-stable version of Dolphin. I'm stumped and have no idea what else to do to fix this issue. I think it's a Windows issue, but no one here on the Dolphin has any answers. 01-02-2023, 03:22 AM
Try adding a portable.txt file to the same folder as dolphin to see if a clean state helps.

Guess what! I resolved the issue. I just found the solution by complete chance while reading "How to use the Official GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U in Dolphin" found at this link: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-...u/#Windows
I went to the Windows section of this page, and there were two download links for two older versions of Dolphin. I downloaded both, but the older one which is version 5.0-10617 found at this download link https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/master/5.0-10617/, was the one that prompted me to do an update. I updated it and am now running the latest version which is 5.0-17995, and none of the games are white screening. Okay, now I'm running the latest version of Dolphin with no white screen issues, what does that mean? It means that all the development and beta versions on Dolphin's main download page (which I tried many of them) all result in white screen, whereas this older version which was hidden worked just fine. That means to me that Dolphin is not including something in their newer zipped folders which allows them to work as they should, unlike these older files that do work, but are hidden and difficult to find. Thanks for several months of not helping me resolve this issue by the way, I was able to find a solution by chance, but I do appreciate the way you guys ignored me all of this time. |
