Hi guys. First time posting. Glad to be here... to make a long story short. I wanted to buy a computer for my living room so I could run emulators and have friends over and game. My main pc has been in the living room for a few months now so I bought a whole new rig to replace my main computer so I could bring my gaming pc back in my room.

I have no issues with dolphin, everything is running smooth and perfect, however when I was transferring my GameCube memory card (A) I ran into some issues...

I’ve been trying to determine what is going on. I came to the conclusion since my main pc is running Windows 7, and my new pc rig is running Windows 10. Maybe this is the issue? I followed this video to the link below and followed step for step to try to get the memory card to load my old save states, but for the life of me it won’t work.

Dolphin can detect that there are save states in the memory blocks but when I try to export, or convert the memory card to gci, nothing happens. I’ve followed the file destination from my main pc and directly copied and pasted it to my new windows 10 rig via a usb flash drive. Which is making me think why it won’t work because they’re running on two different operating systems. I’m using the memory card in the GC file destination under dolphin emulator. I’m pretty sure I followed all of the steps correctly. I’ve also tried loading the memory card under the tools and options settings on the dolphin program to slot a or slot b or load gci file directly, but Nothing seems to be fixing my issue. When I load the game my save state is no where to be found and it says my memory card is corrupted and needs to be formatted.

I’m honestly stuck and this has been the most frustrating thing I’ve ran across since I’ve started to emulate. I’ve come to the forums for guidance hoping someone else may be able to help me or guide me in a screen sharing app. Thank you for taking the time to read. Hopefully someone will be able to help me (:

What version of Dolphin were you running on that the GameCube memory card is coming from? Save states don't transfer well between versions. But If you're trying to only move a memory card, here's something to try on the new computer:

-Delete the Dolphin Emulator folder in "Documents" so that you have a fresh start. Then get a new clean copy of the memory card from the old computer.
-Download the latest dev build of Dolphin an unzip the folder to where you want to run your games from (anywhere that isn't in the top level of your hard drive, Program Files, or "Documents\Dolphin Emulator")
-Run this new version of Dolphin so that it makes the new clean files you need in Documents. Then close it so it's not trying to access any files
-Copy your old memory card into "Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC"
-Open Dolphin, and go to the top bar > Tools > Memory Card Manager, and open the memory card.
-Highlight all the saves you want to transfer, then click the export button
-Choose the region folder that you want to export to (EUR/JAP/USA) that corresponds to the memory card. Make a new folder called "Card A" (without quotes) and select that as the save location for your gci files "Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC\<region>\Card A"
-Setup the path to your games in Dolphin, they'll load in, and then you should be able to load your save files without issue
