Dolphin for gamecube only

I know my pc most likely wont be able to run the WII games, but surely, the gamecube games should require less yea?
i set up the emulator, and got it running, but the gamecube games were really slow. Im hoping i messed up the settings, and not that my pc cant handle the gc games.

i have a dell inspiron 1720. pc specs:

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz

Memory: 2046MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT

are the specs too low for gamecube games? i would really love to play mario sunshine again, since my GC died on me.

Depends on the game. For many games that is way to low. For some it is enough.

You should be able to run some gamecube games, and even some wii games. My computer is pretty similar to yours(slightly better CPU and GPU, but not by much) and I can play many games with a near-perfect or perfect framerate, both cube and wii. Good examples of both are Wind Waker and Brawl.

On these forums is a list of games that run well on low end CPUs, I would recomend looking at that. Also, dont try to max out your graphical settings. The resolution you can increase, but I would stay away from things like FSAA. Also, Idle Skipping is a must.

A 64-bit system is also a huge plus but those are rather low specs. Some games run fine on my laptop's Athlon II x2 2.1GHz, and that's atrocious.

Not really. Gamecube and Wii hardware is the same. Ok. The hardware in Wii is al little bit faster. But this is IMHO done because of getting same speeds in 16:9 rendering (GameCube only supports 4:3).

Wii isn't much better than gamecube =p but your system is a little weak (cpu) so you should choose games that are easier to run.
