More important: Which GPU driver version do you have? Does it support OpenGL ES 3.2? (often packed with the Nougat update)

Samsung is rolling out Nougat for Galaxy S7 now. I wonder if it will get a sexy driver update like what you're referring to.

Mine still hasn't gotten the update but once it does I'll be happy to check and post whatever info you would think to be relevant.

It does, but it is quite old.

This GPU is too weak and has poor drivers, many games won't even work, the CPU is too slow. No chance. Get some recent Snapdragon device and you'll have a decent performance.

Err, no. Currently the fastest device capable of running the Android port is the NVIDIA Shield TV and even on it the performance is far from decent...

Devices with SD 820/821 are capable to run most GC games with 20+ FPS with Vulkan, it's a decent performance, check out:

Well, we have very different definitions of "decent" then. 20+ FPS are nowhere decent for me, that's not even half speed of what they're supposed to be running...

Considering most consoles today run games at 30 FPS, 20+ is a decent speed.
