I have been having trouble for a while now. I downloaded the zip file, extracted to its own folder. But then as I try to click the dolphin.exe file and the icon loads next to my mouse but then it stops and nothing happens. I've been going through forums for about 2 hours trying to download different problems that I don't have, and none of it has helped. It does nothing i click the application and nothing happens i think i have deleted it and re-downloaded it 4 times now.

I have a friend who has successful downloaded and used the program. I downloaded the version that he was running which was 3 days before and then it still does the same thing.

If someone could please help me or give me some tips I would be hugely thankful

I had a similar problem with Retroarch. Whenever I tried to open it nothing happened. It turned out my anti-virus software, Avast, was blocking it. As soon as I uninstalled it, Retroarch started. Try disabling your anti-virus and see if Dolphin opens.

Related to the poster above, you're fine to uninstall existing Anti-virus if you're running Windows 8 at minimum.

For Windows 8 and up, Windows Defender is a more complete anti-malware solution, which includes various malware, spyware, virus, whatever the infosec community feels like calling it that day. Has real-time protection as well. It works pretty well. It won't save you if you click on every "Download here!" button you see, but no A/V system can save you there.

Also, make sure you have the 64 bit version of the Visual Studio 2015 runtimes installed

Yes, that's a good point. I uninstalled my antivirus for a different reason. It was coincidental that it solved my problem with Retroach. I had edited my post to mention disabling the antivirus so the OP wouldn't think I was suggesting getting rid of it completely.
