Hello everyone !

First of all, excuse my quite bad English - I actually speak French. So if you can "afford", continue your reading ! Big Grin

Let's explain my problems. I've recently bought a new PC, which is much better than my old one (new GPU and CPU). The "problem" is... the OS. Yup, I got Windows 8. I know there's a big big war between people who don't like it and people who do. Anyway, I'm not really here for that stuff.

The exact issue is : when I launch any game (Tried with Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker), Dolphin seems to stop working - I mean, Windows says "dolphin.exe stopped working". Then I can't do anything else except close the window and come back to the Desktop. Meh..

(Previously I had issues with DSP but it seems I fixed it by copying the folder from my old PC to my new one.)

I don't understand ! I saw other people with Windows 8 OS who could use Dolphin. Why doesn't it work for me ? xD

---

Thanks in advance ! I hope my English didn't make you run away ahah. Oh ! I hope I respected the rules and stuff too ^^'

You're probably missing the dependencies. Download and install the following:
Visual C++ 2010 Redist (x64)
DirectX Runtime (Yes, install it because Windows (8) doesn't come with everything)

If this doesn't solve the issue, you might have other conflicting applications running or have manually placed the wrong DLL(s) in either system32 or the folder.
I'd recommend to check what exact error you get by checking your Windows logs.

You can view these by doing the following:
You can press the Windows key on your keyboard and R to run the following: compmgmt.msc
Navigate to Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application on the left-hand side in the window that pops up and look for a "Error" level entry that has to do with Dolphin.
Tell us the details.

Refer to the FAQ more specific installation issues.

OT: You can upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free. Go do it, it's much better.

Looks like a generic crash. Have you installed/updated the drivers for your computer already?
Run devmgmt.msc and see if there's any unknown devices and/or items with a ! on it.

You can download and install the latest version for your GPU already though since you know it here.

I made a big update with the Windows uptader, then I installed the latest version for my GPU, as you said.

I tried another time when it was over but it changed nothing. I feel I won't be able to play. I mean, it seems that this is a "random error with whom you should live with, bro"
