Dolphin Emulation Speed Unaffected by Settings

I'll keep it quick. I'm trying to play Wind Waker, and it hangs at around 70%-80% speed regardless of what config/graphic settings I use. I have a beefy pc with both a powerful CPU and GPU (and I know that Dolphin is CPU heavy and even high end PCs struggle with emulation.) I've tried looking through optimization guides and whatnot, but the speed stays the same. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Ok, I lied. There are two things that affect the performance.
1. If the audio backend is set to openAL and the frame limit is set to audio throttle, the fps drops to about 10 (no effect when using other backends)
2. If I turn on an HD texture pack it runs slower.

Nevermind. Switched to the experimental build of dolphin (4.0-5799) and now it runs perfectly. I guess magic really is real.

So I ran the benchmark. Even though the problem is fixed, I'm still curious as to why it was happening.

Haha, this is exactly what I was going to suggest. The new builds run a lot better than the older ones.
