It's technically allowed, seeing how anyone is free to make a forum if they choose to. In reality, it's just in really bad taste to pretty much copy this forum and try to get people to post on your forum based off of the developers hard work. Anyone who would do something like this should be taken out back and shot.

I don't want to compete with this forum nor to replace/copy it. I like mybb because it's easy to use and it looks nice. The reason why the forum here looks the same is because it is the default theme of mybb.
The reason I created the forum is because I am getting many emails from users who need help, but my resources are limited. Many users don't speak english. I needed a multilingual forum. Unfortunately this forum is english-only and nobody is taking care of the website. I already talked to shuffle/ector... They knew I wanted to start an own forum weeks ago... Besides, they asked me to be the webdev of dolphin-emu.com. I have been trying to contact ector for 10 days now (shuffle gave me his email) but he didn't answer me. Apostaticous: What do you think about spamming? It's not polite right? So please stop spamming on my forum. Again: it is not my intention to "steal", "copy", or "hijack" this forum. My goal is to support dolphin's community. I like Dolphin, I like the community behind it, and I like that dolphin is a community-driven project, and it is just amazing to see what the community is able to achieve. 05-10-2010, 02:45 AM

What the F are you talking about? first of all I've been there just like 3 times and its a noob fest, second of all, you don't give a shit about this community so why would you try to create a competing one? you finally care enough to reply after this as been brewing up for along time now and we're not hearing a compelling argument. Well i don't quite know if this was an attempt to make a funny, but that statement was rather extreme. Mamario in a way is helping the cause, his site is rising in popularity; and thus spreading the word of this emulator's success. Mario just has an unorthodox and crazed way of contributing. Woah there Mr. conceited, apos isn't a member of your ghost-town of a forum.

Mario did more for the community(or mb himself who knows that) than some people with xxxxxx posts. Quality > quantity. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, it's so simple. No, mamario did nothing more than it was already been made by other people. "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, it's so simple" not even related to the issue.

He did not get ectors permission to setup a new forum. The obvious thing to do would have been to wait until he gave the okay before continuing.

Exactly, everything at that website can already be found here. In fact most of it is just copypasta directly from information and faqs already provided on this site and forum. All mamario ever did was set up an automatic compile build bot to provide frequently updated builds directly from vanilla source code from the svn. This is something that is not all that difficult to do and anyone one else is able to do with minimal effort. Most of us just don't see the point of compiling every single build since some of the changes are small or insignificant such as wiki edits or minor alterations that make no improvements of overall emulation itself. Compiling every build especially when only minor edits or changes has been committed is a waste of both resources and bandwidth. I appreciate that he is using he resources and bandwidth to provide updated builds, but he doesn't deserve credit for anything else except his builds. Everything else is just a blatant rip of what is already provided on this site and forum. As mentioned his entire site is misleading to new users who have never heard of Dolphin before and just searched for an emulator via a search engine, even more so now that he has added a forum which looks near identical to this forum. I must stress again that I am not specifically referring to mamario and his builds, but everyone who provides builds and is using this forum to advertise external and/or unrelated sites. 05-10-2010, 04:18 AM
Mamario, the people are asking that you close down your site. What do you say about that?
