Yeah it is, I bet he is a great scripter :p. (automatically compiling the revs and uploading them etc).

I personally agree. Both about the main site and compat needs an overhaul. Don't get me wrong though, it is clean and laid out ok overall. But it's a nicer look to the alt site. And also glad he builds svn's for us. I build enough svn project's outside of this one, so this is time saved. And much appreciated.

That technically isn't what he does, He donates time, money, and possibly bandwidth to just so he can compile the nightly builds for us to use to get us a good, reliable source of obtaining this emulator's newest version, He is running a free service that this site doesn't provide, I feel he has every right to run this service, and I feel you should too, believe me, I know the hassle of running a website, It isn't fun at all(at least not until you get a result), he went through all this effort to give us an easier way to get the program, without needing to compile yourself(which takes awhile on some machines).

I actually think Dolphin should of stuck with the same approach as Pcsx2, beta builds are not supported and are not to be advertised on the official forum. The official forum should of been and should always be for official builds, and there is very good reason for that as the past is indicative of.
What anyone does on the side is their business, but the official forums should have always remained for support for official builds. 04-21-2010, 12:08 AM
i don't really like the only-official thing part. i think pcsx2 should be like dolphin...but hey, that's your opinion

Well it's the way nearly all projects are, beta code isn't supported and is primarily for developer use and for testing. I'm sure this will become immediately apparent to you by looking around forums for various open source projects. Most forums have almost always only offered support and discussions regarding the latest stable builds.

i'm with xtreme , the point of an svn is so that it's open-source and so beta-testers and users could test them before an actual release, and so any issues regarding in the svn wouldn't be supported on the official forums (where only official releases are to be supported ), but the fact that it wouldn't be supported on the forums doesn't mean it wouldn't be supported in other places (like the issues list or the irc )
