Hey guys,

After playing 2 hours of Skyward Sword with a real Wiimote and Motion+ from Nintendo, I noticed again, that the Home-Screen shows me 2 bars of battery-life! I recently changed them 4 hours ago! Is the Home-Screen accurate? My battery-"meter" shows me still around 1.45V (nearly full) - and I am certain, if I continue to play for another 4 hours, the battery bar will be red!

Is it just Dolphin? (I can't remember my brother changing the batteries that often, at least he played for over a week with the same battery)

Is it the constant Bluetooth connection? (but it's the same with the real thing, isn't it? I use a Bluetooth dongle from MSI, so no cheap BS).

Is it the Motion+ that sucks up my batteries as it just needs even more power I assume?

I really do consider buying four rechargable batteries, yet I don't find money under my pillow, so I can't buy batteries every day lol.

Anyone notice the same thing? Sad

What brand of batteries are you using? I use a black wiimote+ and nunbchuck in which my batteries have lastest almost a week now. I use Duracell or RAYOVAC.

I don't think that Dolphin could cause your Wiimote to use up power more quickly. The only thing I can think of is that the Wii will automatically shut off your Wiimote if you are idle, while Dolphin will not, so you have to make sure to manually shut off your Wiimote after you are done playing. Also, the Wiimote will use more energy when pairing, since it cannot remain permanently connected to your computer as it does with a Wii, but I don't think that this extra power usage is noticeable.

Perhaps your batteries are getting older? Rechargable batteries lose efficiency with age. It could also be, as you said, an inaccurate reading (not Dolphin's fault, but sometimes the Wiimote gets it wrong). Keep playing and see how much longer the batteries actually last.

I pretty much only use Duracell or Varta (I'm from germany) - so I don't think I use a bad brand or something.

And I take the batteries out if I stop playing, so I know from my brother that else it always stays connected and sucks up my batteries. Well, I will just play now and see how long they last, if they don't make it to the week-end, I rage xD. No, but I will buy some good rechargable batteries.

Thanks for your answers! I would be happy if they last at least a week Big Grin

I have a good one that takes at least 8 hours to run out and an identical one which dies in an hour and a half, but that one never charges above 1/3. Basically if you buy cheap Chinese ones, then you may end up with a dud.

I use windows to connect with my wiimote and I use a Bluetooth-to-USB from MSI (the known Mainboard producer?) - it's quite awesome, connects very fast and no connection loss at all.

I played a little bit more 4 hours again and the bar turned red - still the batteries have 1.4V left, ... I don't care now, as long as Dolphin recognizes my Wiimote all is fine. But damn, not even 10 hours and already red?

Is there a better program to use? I read about BlueSoleil but it doesn't work for me on Windows 7... I mean, something like "Eco-mode"? I am not able to shit batteries at the moment, so ... Nintendo. y u no develop a wired controller :/
