hello this is my problem : i know dolphin use only 2 cores but it actually didnt use all of my 2 cores potential..

for example in Xenoblade, i entered a battle with 6-7 enemies my FPS dropped to 17FPS (always 17 fps)

when i set the framelimit from "auto" to "off" FPS went up 45. This mean my pc can run this game at 45FPS at max but dolphin doesnt do it...tried to set fps limit to 50 60 or 120 it still stayed at 17FPS

my iso is PAL untouch i already disabled intel speed step and anything relates to power saving .It is not only Xenoblade but happened to other games as well (like pandora tower)

use dual core mode : yes
idle skipping : yes

dolphin version : 4.0 and 3.5

and here is something even more stranger : A 4x native gaved me exactly the same FPS as 1x native

dolphin must be locked or something... ?

What was your VPS in the scenes where FPS dropped like that?

You haven't filled out your profile info, let me just look into my magical Crystal ball to figure them out.

Yep, that's game slowdown. I assume that despite the slowdown music was working perfectly? That kind of slowdown happens even on the wii. It's the game anticipating the wii's limitations and reducing the framerate accordingly. There is nothing that can be done about that. I guess you could try the vbeam speed hack?

Yea, the audio working perfectly and the VPS remaining steady are the clues. Dolphin just does what it's told, and in this instance the game is telling it to reduce the framerate because the wii can't handle what's on screen.

Weirdly enough, The Last Story lags on the wii and doesn't lag in Dolphin (assuming you can run that beast of a game), yet Xenoblade lags similarly across the board. I guess it's just differences in how the games account for console limits. *shrug*

i found a solution to battle slowdown and something strange

to avoid the slow down bug we need to set the frame limit to 25 and check the "limit by FPS" box

with this no more slow down in battle but here is another problem : speed went crazy in battle with more than 4 enemies . This happens because we set a limit to FPS and leave VPS unset...

FPS stay 25 / VPS 75 and emulation speed went 150% !!! and game run super fast

http://s12.postimg.org/erp0ht071/1502.jpg

if we can set limit for both FPS and VPS at the same time i think we can fix this.

btw Vsync did not help

with frame limit set to "auto" or 50 vps (uncheck limit by FPS box) the slowdown happens

oh and i even tried to set frame limit to "auto" with "limit by FPS", everything went even more crazier ! emulation run at...200% speed @_@

AFAIK, you can't limit FPS and VPS separately – they're linked to each other in a way that prevents that. (Current builds of Dolphin don't even have the "Limit by FPS" checkbox anymore, it's now always limited by VPS.) Shonumi always recommends leaving the framelimit on "Auto" with "Limit by FPS" unchecked – if you can stand the accurate-to-hardware framerate drops, do that.

You may want to try out the PAL 30 fps patch that's floating around the forums somewhere. Also try unchecking the VBeam speedhack to see if it's doing more harm than good.
