I had dolphin working last week, but I since broke my system by screwing around with /etc/fstab, so I had to re-install Ubuntu. so on a clean install of Ubuntu 14.04 I used apt-get to get the most recent dolphin, and alternated using apt-get upgrade and resetting until it stopped installing upgrades and then ran dolphin.
If i use the Xorg Driver:
Super Mario Sunshine now runs at 34%, last week it ran at 120% in the same sections, with the same settings, everything else has this exact error immediately after selecting the ISO:
LLVM ERROR: Cannot select: 0x7f84fde9ad40: i1 = truncate 0x7f84fde97200 [ORD=52] [ID=37]
0x7f84fde97200: i32 = fp_to_sint 0x7f84fde94770 [ORD=11] [ID=33]

0x7f84fde94670: f32 = Register %vreg6 [ID=3]
In function: main
terminate called without an active exception
Aborted (core dumped)
I tried using gdb to see if there was more than this--I can only assume that this isn't a useful error output considering it's part of register emulation--but that resulted in everything crashing with SIGSEV, which isn't what happened before.
If i use the proprietary driver from my graphic's card manufacturer then all games crash with no consistent errors, before the reinstall Super Mario Sunshine ran at 75% speed using that driver.
So I'm going to guess that something upstream of dolphin is causing the problem, but I can't figure out what it could be. It may be related to me installing gnome-shell on a unity version of Ubuntu, (apparently this it breaks the unity GUI, but I didn't have any problem), but I don't think that's likely.
