Hello everyone.

I am using Mac OS X Lion, CPU 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5. I have been trying to use Dolphin 3.0 on my computer, but every single time it opens, it freezes and I have to go to the Force Quit menu to close it. This happens basically as soon as it opens, not giving me any time to load any games. Once upon a time, I was able to use it, but then all of a sudden, it started crashing. This keeps happening even when I've deleted old versions of Dolphin and downloaded it again (because I thought it was a problem with the memory card I had associated with it).

I'm not a computer-expert, so please don't give me an answer that requires me to doodle around in Command Prompt or something. And I'd really like someone who understands OS X to help me here; the last time I tried to ask here, a Windows/Linux person answered and wasn't able to help me much. I know there are other Mac users who've been able to run this, so I want to know why the hell it isn't running on my computer.

Have a look at this recent thread for issues related to Dolphin start-up freezes. You can trust Axxer as a fellow OS X Dolphin user Wink If you get anymore crashes, try newer builds from http://dolphin-emu.org/download rather than the .com site we're currently on.

Do your saves matter to you a ton?
And shonumi beats me to the punch only to post exactly what I posted before... Bravo.

For you, your best bet is to go into /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support
And delete the Dolphin folder. That ell mean your saves are gone unfortunately, but it should work again (allow a fresh install).

Open a new Finder window, click the "Go" menu in the menubar and hold the Option key, click the Library menu item that just appeared, navigate to "Application Support" then "Dolphin", and delete the "Config" folder. If that's no help, delete more stuff in there. ("GC" contains your memory cards, "Wii" contains your Wii saves/system data, and "ScreenShots" and "StateSaves" are self-explanatory, if you have anything you want to keep from those folders.)

Does this take you to the system's library folder or the user's?

The user's, of course. They decided to make ~/Library hidden in Lion, but they left /Library (and /System, for that matter) unhidden since that's, y'know, system stuff, while the user might confuse ~/Library for some random crap that ended up in their home folder and throw it away. They left the Go > Library menu item in, slightly obscured, for those who needed it.
