I'm trying to add Dolphin to the Nvidia control panel, but after I apply the changes, close, and reopen the control panel the entry for Dolphin is not in the list anymore. I've tried using Nvidia Inspector, but the changes I make there don't seem to have any effect in the games. How can I fix this?

It's the latest version: 347.09 I should probably add that I'm trying to enable vsync through the driver instead of Dolphin because I get huge random slowdowns in Wii games with vsync on and I read somewhere that enabling it through the driver would fix this. Is there any other way of fixing the lag if I can't get the control panel to work? 01-15-2015, 12:04 PM
I'm sure you're doing it right, but you made sure to hit the apply button, yes? Also, are you making Nvidia CP use high performance and Windows power management also set to high performance?
Also, forcing it through the driver is not a good idea usually. Have you tried switching backends inside Dolphin? 01-15-2015, 01:40 PM

It doesn't seem to be a problem with Dolphin specifically. I just tried adding Project64 and PCSX2 to see if they worked and both of those also disappeared from the game list after restarting the control panel. All settings get reverted to default when I add them again, same with Dolphin. Is this a known bug with the control panel, or am I missing something? The slowdown seems to happen less often with OpenGL, so I'll just use that for now. Why is it not a good idea to force it through the driver?
Seems like an issue with just your system. Make sure there aren't any updates pending in windows update, even optional ones (besides like bing junk)
You also may want to reinstall your GPu drivers, cause that's not normal behavior. 01-15-2015, 02:35 PM

That was tricky though, I had tried doing a clean installation of them earlier and that didn't work so I did some more Googling and found that I needed to uninstall all the drivers AND delete every Nvidia folder on my computer before reinstalling. I'm not sure what I did to mess it up so bad, but it's fixed now. Thanks for your help |
