Exclamation
Whenever I enable cheats mid-game, Dolphin crashes. If the cheats are enabled before Dolphin starts up, it plays for about 10 seconds, then crashes again. Any idea whats wrong??

Specs:
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

I have had no trouble running Dolphin without cheats.

If it makes any difference, the game I'm trying to play is Animal Crossing: City Folk

Thanks for your help,

The obvious answer is that the cheats don't place nice with Dolphin. As accurate as Dolphin is, it's still not a Wii; not every Gecko code will work, and not every Gecko code will be crash-free.

You can try different cheats altogther or different values for the cheats, but sometimes there's no getting around cheats that won't work, not yet anyway.

Cheats will only work for the region (PAL/NTSC/NTSC-J) they are written for. Have you tried using the gecko cheat on your Wii?

They also won't work on different versions of the same game.

Hey,
i asked myself if it is possible to watch the current values of a memory line. It would be a lot easier for some things:
If you already know in what memory adress is your place for an item but not which item has what value, you could experiment with some items you already have and could find which item has what value. Or is there a method i don't know?

Easiest way to do that is with cheat engine.

1. This is necroposting, which is against the Global Forum Rules.
