Dolphin Crashing Only When Using Wii Remote (non -TR)

Hello all,

Today I downloaded Dolphin for the first time, and dumped a game from my Wii to play it there and hopefully stream it to my friends over Discord.

I tried testing the game out a couple of times after connecting my Wii Remote and the game (along with the entire emulator) crashes either once it is booted up or about five minutes after starting it up. I found some similar, old threads about crashes like this and it still crashed when under recommended compatibility settings, still crashes when run as an administrator, and still crashes no matter what backend I use. It still crashes when uninstalling everything and reinstalling, as well. There is no error message before it crashes, the entire program just closes.

Then, I noticed that the emulator would not read my controller inputs for a few seconds before it crashes. I tried testing the game without my Wii Remote, instead using keyboard and mouse, and suddenly the crashing completely stops.

I tested two versions of the Wii Remote I own, and neither are listed the "-TR" version (that the Dolphin wiki warns might need extra steps to connect) under my PC's Bluetooth. One is a motion plus remote, and the other is older and has no motion-plus built in. I'm not sure why, but it's clear that Dolphin only crashes whenever I have a real Wii remote connected to the emulator.

The game I've been trying to play is "Poképark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure," and unfortunately you need to shake the controller to complete the first attraction, so I can't get far in the game at all without the Wii remote. The wiki says this game is compatible and the game can be completed in full so I'm not sure why this issue is arising. Again, I haven't tested any other games since I haven't dumped a second one yet.

Is there any way to fix this crashing issue? I've looked everywhere and can't find the specific issue I'm having right now. Also, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this; I wasn't sure if I should put it here or in the controllers section as it's my first day here.

Firstly, are you running the most recent development version (or at least the most recent beta version)? Are you using "Emulate a BT Adapter" or "Passthrough a BT Adapter" mode?

I actually found out why it was crashing after digging around on the internet for several hours. I *was* using the most recent development and beta versions, but those were the problems. (I was also using "Emulate a BT Adapter" because the other option didn't work for me).

Anyway it seems like a bug in the current developmental versions and beta versions of 5.0, in which whenever my controller disconnects the entire application just crashes. I only found this occurring on the latest couple beta and developmental versions. Since discovering this, I switched to "Beta Version 5.0-12247" and this version does not have this crashing problem. I still have the controller disconnecting problem but for some reason it is also significantly less on this version.
