When I turn on my computer and try dolphin, there is no problem. If I close it or it freezes and when I double click it to start it up again it crashes. I get the message, "Dolphin.exe has stopped working."
Dolphin crashing on start up

That's normal behavior for how Windows handles crashes. I don't see the problem here.

No, Windows should give you the option to close the program. If for some reason it doesn't, just use Ctrl+Alt+Del.

The problem isn't closing it. The problem is I can't start it up again because I get the error.

Oh, I see, that's odd then. Have you checked to see if the process is still running in Task Manager? I've had something similar happen with Firefox, and killing the process will fix the problem.

Hmm, have you tried running other revisions of Dolphin? I don't think that would change anything, though, this is definitely an issue specific to your computer. The only other thing I can think of that would almost certainly fix your problem would be to reinstall your OS. However, that's probably something you don't want to do. If you wait, say half an hour, and relaunch Dolphin.exe, does it still crash immediately?

I've tried other revisions and get the same result. I can play again after waiting about half an hour.
I can't seem to pinpoint your problem. It's definitely an issue with memory or memory allocation, though. For curiosity's sake, are you able to open multiple instances of Dolphin.exe? If so, what happens when you close only one instance of Dolphin? Can you open another instance as long as Dolphin.exe is still running?
I did some searching and found something that could help - Press WINKEY + R to open the run prompt and paste the following line: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks This will clear your memory cache, it's worth a shot. See if you can start Dolphin after running that command. |
