Dolphin Crashes While Streaming Netplay (And Only Then)

Hi guys,

I'm a competitive Melee player. I use a 13 inch 2017 MacBook Pro with Windows 10 boot camped onto it to run Melee online and stream it on twitch with OBS. I use a custom version of Dolphin called Faster Melee, which reduces input lag as we Melee players are quite particular about it   but I don't think this issue is build-specific.

Whenever I stream, I usually try to play matches with others through netplay. And in a random time interval, sometimes after one game but sometimes not for twenty (usually on the earlier side), the game will freeze. Dolphin won't crash, only the emulation. And only on netplay; netplay doesn't crash off-stream and offline emulation doesn't crash on-stream. At first I thought it was CPU usage, since I'm not on a high end PC, but I had Task Manager open and visible while running netplay and when it crashed CPU usage was at maybe 50%. I'm using the Direct3D 11 backend, if that's relevant. I'll post any other specs needed on request.


What can I do to stop netplay from crashing? It's my main streaming activity.

Faster Melee is a rebranded version of Ishiiruka, so please ask in the Ishiiruka thread unless you're certain that it happens in official Dolphin too: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-ishiiruka-dolphin-custom-version

You should also check that the problem isn't caused by the patches that Faster Melee applies to SSBM.
