EDIT: problem fixed, I'm going to stick to the latest stable Mac OS X version instead of the dev builds, thanks for helping. Also found out that most games (excluding Paper Mario, runs faster due to not using a lot of polygons or fancy shaders) run at an average of 10 fps on my MacBook, which is better than Dolphin crashing, but that's if I'm willing to waste my time playing Mario Kart Wii (which ran at 1fps most of the time) or Sonic Heroes in slow motion and with choppy audio.

Hi,

Recently I got a MacBook Air and wanted to see if I could run Dolphin on it (my old computer couldn't run Dolphin). I used "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" as a test game. The game did work, and it seemed to be running fine, until it stopped working right when it was in the middle of the screen where the prologue title was supposed to show up. Please tell me why this happened and if it's just the emulator/ISO or my MacBook.

I have included the download link to the error log in my Dropbox:

Firstly, Dolphin tends to have problems in OS X with an Intel HD graphics card since Apple's IGPU drivers have not-so-good OpenGL support. If you experience any graphical problems, you should consider using Boot Camp to run Windows and run Dolphin there. Additionally, the Intel HD cards don't really handle bounding box effects that well (the Paper Mario series is notorious for using this feature). However, I don't think it should be crashing at the Prologue title... What Dolphin build are you using?

Oops, I just figured out that I'm actually using one of the development versions... I'll go install the latest stable version and see if I have any problems.

I think that was his point, the latest devs are probably better.

I used the latest (stable) version of Dolphin and the game didn't crash. Next time I should maybe check what I'm downloading Undecided

Anyways, thanks for reminding me to check what version of Dolphin I'm using.

Actually, ExtremeDude2 was right. I wanted you to use the latest development build Tongue I think there's some new bounding box code that doesn't work well on Intel HD cards. Oh well, at least it's working (for now). If effects look glitchy, then it will almost certainly be bounding box issues...

This flip screen crash is known to happen on Intel cards. Once you get past that part in the game, save at a box, and then load it in the latest dev build

If you continue playing in the recent dev builds with a GPU that doesn't support bounding box, you're probably going to run into more problems later, like when Professor Frankly tries to open the gate to the pipe outside his house.
