Okay from googling a bit, it seems dolphin is supposed to be reading the time from my system clock.   I couldn't help noticing that when playing Zelda twlight princess(GameCube version) that the time was about 7 minutes behind whenever i saved.  Example: say its currently 10am at the moment of saving, the game claims it to be 9:53am at the time of saving.(it did have the right month, day and year)  By the end of a couple hour play session it was off by 14 minutes.  While this isn't really a problem for this game, i was thinking of playing Animal Crossing and it would most definitely be a problem on there.  What can i do about this issue?

EDIT
Oops forgot to list Dolphin version which is 4.0-7933 64 bit for windows.

I don't know exactly how it works, but maybe the clock slows down when the game isn't running at 100% speed? If so, I don't think there's much you can do other than restarting occasionally to get the right time or hoping that Dolphin won't lag. Luckily, Animal Crossing is very lightweight, so it will run better than Zelda: Twilight Princess.

hmmn twilight princess was only lagging occasionally and only for 1-2 second at a time. Namely it would sometimes(not always) lag when warping, or transforming into human/wolf, basically some effect would cause it, but only for a second or two, outside of that entirely lag free.

Probably cause you have a GT 620 as your GPU.
Also make sure you have the Hyrule Speed Patch enable in the game's properties menu.

yeah, i'm intending to replace that card towards the end of this year or maybe early next year. Of course that speed patch is already enabled.

I think i finally figured out whats causing this. I was pausing the emulator from time to time to check info in guides on side quests, it seems like Dolphin only checks what time the system clock is set to at startup, then just lets the clock run normally, without ever again checking the system clock, until dolphin is shut down and started again.

If that is true, it needs to be fixed for TASes. Even though TASes don't use the system time, the time would need to be paused when dolphin is paused as to not throw off the random number generator.

That's what already is happening.
