Does anyone know what DolphinBar's compatibility is like with non-official Nintendo WiiMotes/nunchucks? Considering a dolphinbar, and a controller for Christmas, but not necessarily wanting to spend 2x for an official controller.

PC:
Dolphin 4.0-4543
Win7-Professional x64
16GB Ram
XFX R9 270
i7-4790k-4.0Ghz

I just received my Dolphin Bar and using this 3rd party wiimote from http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/371036326269?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I have problems trying to use the controller. I set the Dolphinbar to mode 3 , and pressed sync, the remote controller shows its connected but nothing happens when I pressed the buttons in game (and i didn't get a vibration confirmation when its synced) . I choose mode 4, same thing happens.

Another interesting thing to note was when the remote was connected on mode 3, and I cycled to mode 4 in game, I had a vibration confirmation and synced BUT the remote shuts off after that and goes back to blinking (detecting), and it doesn't sync after that.. anyone got any idea??

I have the exact same problem. Is the only way to fix this to get an official wiimote? I can input buttons for the wiimote to work when I set they input method as a hybrid wiimote and map it out myself. but then the controller isnt sensed at all. This is on mode 3 on the dolphinbar. any ideas?

Fake/3rd party Wiimotes are hit or miss, most of them doesn't work. To ensure maximum compatibility you need official Nintendo wiimotes...

I have a Wii mote, which works with Dolphin for the past 2 years, using bluetooth dangle and Toshiba Bluetoothstack.

however they does not work with Mayflash Dolphinbar, which I bought brandnew today.

the symptom is as follows:

1. mode 1 -4 I can sync, and looks like mode 1 works as expected

2. mode 1 : Wii-B = left click, Wii-A is right click,
however on the paper-manual wii-A = left-click, wii-B = right click

3. I switch to mode 4 from 1 → 2 → 3 →4 , the sync will be lost when arriving mode-4 (i.e. the sync led starts blinking slowly)
I have to press button : wii-(1) wii-(2) simultaneously to get it resynced.

4. In mode4 (have sync-led stablized in step3 above) , let dolphin-emu start a game, and wiimote *will* vibrate, but it does not respond to any key press from wiimote.

5. I tried dolphin-emu both stable release 4.02 and latest: 4.0-4922 (from https://dolphin-emu.org/download/?nocr=true )
*only* latest 4.0-4922 have wiimote vibrated when game start

system configuration:
win 8.1 Pro x64
Nvidia GT555
8G RAM
i7 Cpu

Mayflash DolphinBar with firware 0x3 (tried update from mayflash website, it said no need to udate)

Have you tried doing a sync using the red button in the battery case with mode 4?

thank you for your prompt reply, I started completly afresh, and looks like it works.

1. format harddisk , reinstall windows 8.1
2. reinstall dolphin (latest development version 4.0-4922)
3. install mayflash device driver (comes with the CD-ROM)
4. plugin in dolphinbar
5. switch to mode4 direcly before doing any sync (all wiimotes are powerd off, without any batteries)
6. press sync button on dolphinbar, (led start quick blinking)
7. press 'red-button' from wiimote, (wii motes 4 led starts blinking, and then only one light remains on,i.e. good!)
at the same time, dolphbar indicate synced (led sycn stays on)
8. in dolphin select "real Wiimote" for the Wiimote 1, while make sure 2 3 4 are none.
9. start a game

10. it works perfectly. Smile Smile Smile Smile

Then, something strange happened.

I tried to sync wiimote2, (with Wiimote1 working and conected, powered on)

11. press red-sync button from wiimote 2 (wiimote 2 start blinking)

.. and blinking ...

.
.

and them stopped blinking. (stopps connecting)

12. also start from step 10. using wiimote2 alone (i.e. poweroff wiimote 1) , without any other wiimote, and it works fine.

if start from step 10. with wiimote1 connected, pressed sync-button on Dolphinbar, (dolphbar starts blink quickly).

a. press red-sync from wiimote2, wiimote start blinking (4 leds )
b. then blinking switched to 2 leds
c. then dolphinbar stablized (sync led stays on) with wiimote 1 still conected
d wiimote2 stopped blinking after a while.

looks like the dolphinbar works with single wiimote perfectly, but I may have done something wrong when connecting second wiimote. if so, what will it be... Huh Huh Huh Huh

thumbup for Mayflash Dolphbar! the idea is very nice.
