I have recently seen information that says that the GameCube's processor, the Gekko, was based on the PowerPC 7xx family; these processors were used in the Power Macintosh G3 computers. Is it possible that using the Dolphin interpreter on a Power Mac G3, G4, or G5 is actually faster than using the recompiler, because the physical processors and emulated processors are essential the same?
OS: Windows 8.1 x64

The interpreter would surely not be faster.
I would think a JIT has potential to be faster, but it would have to be completely rewritten.
