Your processor will need more than 3.0 Ghz to play Wii games. A good i5 will do the job

If i overclock my pentium d to 3.0 ghz will it work? and for some reason i prefer an i7 9.20 because of the migrating to a new platform.

And Why are i5 expesive than a 920 will a i7 920 stock speed do the job with my current graphics?

might as well get core2duo e8600, that has higher clock rate by default, rather than that lower clock quad (assuming you're not overclocking)

i put the core 2 quad on my system and it only boost a 10-15 fps (on mario Kart wii).
But a buddy come here and do some tweaks on the configuration and mario kart played at 35 fps in game prety nice.

Melee played very well without the tweaks 40-50 fps need to try with the tweaks.

i'm using dolphin 6362. 3.0 doesn't give that speed idw

try r6515, most people here said that the fastest rev for now.

and dolpin only use 2 ore at most, so being quad doesn't help much.
if you're familiar with OC, try OC that quad to 3GHz. should be safe and easy.
