For some reason, the default kernel on at least Dimensity 700, 720, 800, and 900, the emulator does not max the cores, unless you are touching the screen. This goes for Citra too, as well as all MMJ builds.

I do not know if this can be fixed in the emulators, but it can be fixed if you set the performance kernel... which I do not know if you can do without root (try with ADB). If you have root, use a kernel manager that can set per app, and set to performance for this and other high end emulators. Enjoy at least 20 percent more top end performance as your CPU is used fully.

Force CPU Performance kernel. Dont know if you can do it without root, but Franco Kernel Manager has per app settings, totally solving the issue for me. App needs root tho I believe.

Same problem with PPSSPP emulator on snapdragon.  I fixed it like you did!
