Hello I've been trying Dolphin and I'm getting satisfactory performance with games in the 1152x864 resolution, 4xSSAA, 16xAF but I'm stuck with 0% GPU load while using the emulator. Is this normal? I think I shoul be getting higher frame rates, as games like wind waker run at 32 fps average, and the gpu load is still 0%. Any help?

system config:
Core2Duo E7500 @2,93Ghz
Radeon HD5770 1Gb
2Gb Ram DDR2 666Mhz
Windows 7 32 bits

Um 30 FPS is full speed for Windwaker and some other games. Performance really depends on the games, games that have to render more will run slower on underpowered hardware. Your CPU is sufficient for most games, but some heavier games will run slower.

Post your settings by the way, maybe someone can suggest a configuration.

Not sure if 0% is normal for the GPU though. It's known that GPU doesn't matter much for Dolphin, that having a decent CPU is what matters most.

Right now I'm trying to "stress" the GPU to see if it would load something, without results. Here is my configuration:

Enable Dual Core
Enabled Idle Skipping
Skip GC bios checked
JIT Recompiller
Direct3D 9 plugin
DSP HLE Audio

In graphics section:
Load native minimaps
EFB
Pixel Lighting
Bi/Trilinear filter
16xAF
4XSSAA
1152x864 fullscreen resolution
EFB Integral
copy to texture
Safe texture cache (turning it off didn't improve performance at all)

and that's it.

what are you using to monitor gpu load? do you only have a single video card?

Yes, only 1 5770, and I'm using the latest version of GPU-Z

Sorry to double post but I fixed the problem by using driver sweeper and reinstalling the drivers of my GPU, now the games run a little bit better but GPU-Z shows a load of 40-43%.
Thanks everyone who replied.

oh?

it possibly depends on driver version, im aware of Catalyst 9.x and early 10.x not supporting gpu load.
