Dolphin 5.0 running about 1/3 speed

I am running Mario Kart on Dolphin 5.0 with a very good computer (can run almost any game on max settings). It worked fine at first, but now any game I try to run runs at about 1/3 of the normal speed. Framerate is very good, so no issues there.

I have tried reinstalling both the games and Dolphin itself, but this has had no effect. I have also tried using older versions of Dolphin, with no luck. I have changed no settings from the default other than the theme of the start window.

Anyone have any ideas?

What specs? Is it a laptop?

Plug it in.
Deactivate power-saving options.

Yes, it is a laptop. I have tried plugging it in while it is at 100% and playing but it hasn't worked. My performance options are set to best performance and it is a gaming laptop.

Specs:
Intel Core i7-6700 HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz, 2592 MHz
16 GB ram
Windows 10 64-bit
Intel HD Graphics 530

Sorry, I really don't know what it could be. CPU temp. are OK?

It may be occurring throttling CPU by overheating.

If it has a discrete GPU, make sure 'dolphin' is set to use the high performance GPU in whatever control panel the GPU vendor supplies.

At least NVidia's control panel seems to keep forgetting this - especially when updating dolphin.
