I am currently encountering a strange issue with Dolphin 5.0, I am able to pair the Wiimote with my Windows 10 machine, but when I click the "Refresh" button in the Controllers screen, the entire emulator will freeze and I have to kill it from the Task Manager in order to get it going again.

The steps to create this for me is:
Pair Wiimote (ensure flashing constantly) > Open Dolphin > Click Controllers > Change Wiimote 1 to Real Wiimote > Hit Refresh under Wiimotes > Application freezes

I tried this in Dolphin 4.0.2 and it is working fine. Was there any specific change to the Refresh button which would cause it to crash?

Thanks

It doesn't crash, it just freezes for like 20 seconds. I just enable continuous scanning and hit the sync button on wiimote ingame.

Tried waiting 10 minutes after hitting the Refresh button and the program is still frozen, I'll try the continuous scanning too but I haven't had much luck on that either. Tried two different Bluetooth adapters too Huh

Okay some new information after investigating.

Seems like this issue was introduced in 4.0-2241 with the DolphinBar fix, the available version just before it was 4.0-2238 and that version worked without any issue. With the DolphinBar change (GIT pull #661), was there something specific that the code is looking for which would cause a total freeze up of the application?

Your BT stack is probably hanging Dolphin. Try Microsoft BT Stack...

Thank you very much for your reply, I tried switching to the MS Generic Bluetooth stack but I am encountering no change in behavior with the issue.  I've posted a screenshot of what I'm seeing (just in case I'm doing some very silly user error).

I just retested it, pressed refresh, than ok, and it froze for 2 seconds (not responding in top tab came up in half a second)

I had my friend try that too, it works for him with that same behavior.

A brief freeze would be okay for me, but unfortunately for me I've waited up to 20 minutes and it still remains frozen.

Solved it, I had a Jabra BIZ 620 USB Headset (used for Skype and TeamSpeak) plugged in and it seemed to be recognized as an HID-headset.

Short of blowing away every device I had (I even uninstalled my HID keyboard), this one fixed it after unplugging it.

Thanks for your help everyone.
