I'm not sure if this affects Windows and Mac OS users but, for me, this is a bit of an issue.
Say I'm playing a game in Dolphin with only a physical Wii remote. After playing the game for a bit, I'll notice that my screensaver will be activated while I'm playing the game. This is kind of annoying for me, since my screensaver is set to activate after 10 minutes and I have to keep sending input from my keyboard or mouse at these intervals.

I certainly hope to see a fix for this sometime soon. While not some huge issue, it's kind of surprising to run into this issue to begin with.

…why would that change anything? Unless I missed a change, there's been nothing since 5.0 that changes screensavers.

OP, what is your desktop environment?

I thought there was a recent change regarding screensavers. What I remembered was the Busy Loop change.

Right now, I'm using the Cinnamon desktop environment. I'll see if this occurs with any of the others I have installed and see if anything changes.

Update: I have tested this in KDE Plasma and Gnome 3 as well. The same problem persists in KDE Plasma but it seems to be non-existent in Gnome 3.

Busy loop has nothing to do with disabling screensaver Wink
Actually, Dolphin does try to disable the screensaver (and it has been doing that since at least 2010), though it doesn't seem to work in all cases… Reproduced this with i3wm.

AFAIK this also happens in Windows, but only while using real Wiimotes. I didn't try 5.0 or recent builds, but I remember having this issue in 4.0-8xxx era...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)
