Hello,

I'm trying to solve this issue of lag/slowdown. There seems to be this constant slowdown in every game. I went thru a variety of options which so far had no success. Is there a way to resolve this, or at the very least understand why this happening please.

Is the game constantly running below fullspeed, or is it occasional?

That could either be your GPU not staying in highperformance mode, in which case just make a profile in Nvidia Control Panel for Dolphin to use High performance mode all the time.
Or it's shader cache stuttering, in which case that will only go away as you play the game more and the shader cache builds up. A solution is currently being worked on for this.

I'll give it a go, but it's not even a stutter. The frames just drop which is weird considering I did it as low as possible. Thanks for your advice. Btw is the high performance mode under power management?

Nvidia control panel > Manage 3D settings > power management mode > Prefer maximum performance

or something.

If you don't want it running on full power all the time, you can create a program profile for Dolphin.exe in nvidia control panel and set it there.

Well didn't work, but hopefully shader cache possibly will work over time. Still amazing how good Dolphin 5.0, is this a common problem?

Ubershaders are being worked on https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/3163.
That can nearly stop stuttering but it isn't merged yet.

Very strange, because my frames don't drop at all as this is happening. Using the FPS counter while playing Super Mario Galaxy, it stays between 60-61.

No idea what I done, but Super Mario Galaxy & Super Smash Melee play perfectly for now. If anyone is having issues like I did just let me know.
