Hi everyone,
I've just started using dolphin to try playing Project M, and I've built version 3.5. However, when I try to host a game on netplay, instead of the number I'm supposed to give to my opponent, it just says "Error: Bad host" instead.
I've tried googling for everything I can think of now, but I can't come up with a solution.
I've used this guide* to set it up. When doing the exact same thing on my laptop, I receive the code and can successfully connect to others, but on my desktop I just get the error no matter what.
I've tried running different versions of Dolphin, running it as administrator, moving the ISO around on my PC to different locations, disabling firewall (even though I use the same one on my laptop) and even tried using my smartphone as a modem instead of my regular connection. The laptop uses the same connection as the desktop, only difference being that the laptop is on wireless. They connect to the same router though.
One thing I can think of could somehow be related (although I don't think it's very likely that it is), is that I did create a save file for project M, before I found out I was not supposed to. I did what was instructed where I read about it (I forget exactly where that was) to delete the save file again however. Further, there was not at any point anything saved when I launched the game again anyway. The netplay problem persists if I try hosting for Brawl instead as well, but these are the only games I have right now for reference. I've tried removing everything I could locate on my PC related to Project M and Dolphin, and redownloaded and done over everything. No luck.
If anyone has ANY ideas, I'd appreciate your time, as I am completely out of creative solutions. I've searched around on google as mentioned, and on this forum as well, and the only thread I've found suggested disabling the firewall. Thanks in advance everyone.
