So i'm using 3.5 VS 4.0.2 Zelda Twilight Princess, Same settings same everything.

Yet i'm losing alot of frames on 4.0.2, and in 3.5 it ruins silky smooth! Even when i'm streaming. Any ideas?

Newer versions are slower than older ones because they are more accurate

Without sounding stupid, can I ask why exactly Dolphin needs to be more accurate? It seems the only difference with newer versions is that they are slower, or does accuracy mean less chance of crashes and bugs?

If it doesn´t emulate accurately the games, HOW are you supposed to live the original GC/Wii original experience?

And yes, the accuracy means less chance of crashes and bugs.

The other part (being slower and slower and slower) depends on how fast and strong is your machine to run the emulator.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 800/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

Yes, it most definitely means less crashes and bugs Smile

Well i've never crashed so far with 3.5, And getting these HUGE frame drops just seems unreal. It seems more then just a bug imo... I've got a I7 4770k atm in my pc paired with 8GB 1600mhz and a GTX 760.

Wouldn't expect frame drops really.

It all depends on what games you play

Well, it just seemed to me that the "less accurate" versions just had better performance. The gameplay is identical in videos I've seen. Fair enough Smile

Yeah, I've got to agree, this is a MAJOR factor in your performance with Dolphin. I can run Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros and Sonic Colours fine, but Pokemon Battle Revolution just kills my machine.

Well i think its quite strange tbh.. on 3.5 i can stream the game without a single FPS drop. 4.0.2 i've been getting fps drops from 30(max) to 20-26. While not streaming, just walking in kakariko village.
Really think some games just run alot worse on the newer versions. hope they'll fix that around in the new updates Smile

No, they run better in the new version. Here's your problem. You're defining running well as running fast. Now, that may be fine and dandy for a lot of games, but if you want games to work properly, never crash, and look right, you need to stop worrying about running fast and start worrying about running well. There was an era of Dolphin defined by making games run fast. That era is pretty much over, and the focus has gone to optimizing and making games run well. Hacks are being removed, proper emulation is being added, and for some people that means certain games will run slower.

Will Dolphin get faster again? Probably, there are ways to optimize better code. But the important part is that Dolphin 4.0 runs game BETTER than 3.5 did. They're more accurate to the hardware. You may not appreciate that work now, but down the line you'll come to appreciate newer builds because of the efforts put in to make games run well.
