Dolphin 4.0.2 crashing when configuring graphic settings

I'm new here and I dont know if this is the right thread so if it is, please move it to the right thread.

I recently formatted my hard drive and this version of Dolphin ran perfect with no crashes etc. Now for some reason when I click on the graphics configure button, Dolphin instantly crashes and I cant find a fix. Can anyone help me here?

Try the latest development release and delete the Dolphin Emulator folder in your documents folder.

Don't use stable, it's almost 2 years old.

Also, make sure your GPU drivers and direct x is installed correctly.

I'd not delete the whole folder - you need to keep the subfolders called Wii and GC if you want to keep your saved games, for example. The issue's most likely with the folder called cache.

Why would generated caches crash dolphin's config UI?

There isn't really anything else that's actually been loaded by that point - everything else is only accessed once a game is started.
