No, the most important is the CPU.
Any kind of GPU would do, as long as it's nVidia or AMD. If you get another Intel Graphics or Integrated Graphics or such, you should abandon the idea of playing games altogether.

You should try to get a computer with Sandy Bridge CPU (i5 or i7) @ 3GHz, that should be good enough for Dolphin, I think.
Coincidence does not exist.
We only believe it does, because we never know what happens beyond our visions and thoughts.

You are a bit inaccurate, only the latest and definitely not the cheapest from AMD or Nvidia will do the job fine for full HD monitors (for even higher resolutions you need something even better). For example a Geforce GT 520 http://uk.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-520/performance is definitely not enough.

Thanks for the info. Are there any test/examples of working setups... for us newbs. ie: What CPU/GPU will give what outcome?

I've got an i3-530 HTPC, hoping to run Dolphin at 720p (max setting) on my 50" plasma. It's running at 4Ghz, with Intel HD @1200Mhz, just like all these articles suggest...

For a BUDGET chip, they're a weapon for PC usage. Being able to run Dolphin would be AMAZING news, and I imagine it IS possible... not sure what resolution though.

hahahaha....can't blame the guy, it still has room for improvement, there will never be a perfect emulator, even a snes emulator on a quad-core will have some very MINIMAL difference from the real thing.
