can someone please help me i am playing paper mario thousand year door i am in hooktails castle but i cant get past the curse part the r button wont work i have tried remapping the buttons i have tried switching controllers even using the keyboard but in the end its all the same

Can you post a screenshot of your controller settings? If you cant attach it due to being a new user, you can use a site like Imgur, flickr, or other photo sharing sites to host.

Also, can you check if you have a good dump of the game? Right-click the game in Dolphin's game list > Properties > Verify Tab > Verify.
