I was just curious, does triple channel RAM offer much of a performance increase? I doubt for the price its that big of a deal, but I just wondered if it does much of anything at all. (compared to dual channel RAM with Intel i5/i7s)

Only if efb to ram is used, it can make a significant difference then but otherwise it makes no difference. Also keep in mind that it doesn't improve bandwidth as much you would think since each channelis usually clocked lower. I5/I3 use two channels running at 1333 MHz by default (2666 effective) and an I7 on the 1366 platform will use 3 channels running at 1066MHz by default (3200 effective). That's a 20% increase.

Ah, that's not as big of an improvement as I thought.
