Does Openal Work

When i start up the game all i get is a black screen
and i have downloaded Openal from this site:
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/default.aspx

on that site i downloaded oalinst
I have windows vista 32bit, is this correct.

actually OpenAL DOES work but it is extremely crappy DSound is still the best. You mostly only here static if anything
