Does GBA->GCN linking work with real Gameboys?

I've been wanting to play Crystal Chronicles with some friends, but I know that using GBA emulators currently doesn't work for that game. Does anyone know if hooking up actual GBAs to a Gamecube->usb converter would allow us to play the game in Dolphin? None of us have a converter and I'd really like to save a few bucks if anyone has tested this or has the ability to test it.

Otherwise we're gonna be stuck in low res on the Gamecube, which would be kinda lame

No, that will not work with Dolphin. There are no plans to implement such a feature right now.

I have, and successfully played four swords, but FFCC just doesn't work, there's an issue submitted on the bug tracker already for it.
