Well I finally had the chance to try it today, and by turning VSync on it fixed the slow downs.
But I had a stable 30 fps with 4 man split-screen and although I hate anything lower then 60 (which is why I game on pc lol), it works pretty good!
You should try too control 3 characters with the same controls though, it's pretty funny
