Hi there, it's me again.

Today we started another attempt at playing Donkey Kong Country Returns via Netplay, but are still plagued with the same problems as 8 months / 3 years ago. Is there something we are doing wrong?`

Our Problems:
- If we use our XBox360 Controllers (via USB) to configure our emulated WiiMotes the game desyncs on startup. Even if we only use ONE.
- If we use Keyboard and Mouse (Default-Settings) the game stays black and does not start, EXCEPT if the host is only setting up ONE controller in the netplay-controller-settings. As soon as the second controller is set-up the game won't start. If we try to connect the second controller in-game (ALT-F5) the game instantly desyncs.
- Netplay is not working with Dual-Core enabled (i thought they implemented deterministic dual core?)

So the basic problem is that we cannot get the game to work with 2 controller and also not with dual core enabled.

What we've tried:
- Newest Nightly Build of Dolphin
- Newest Build of Ishiiruka

Is this a specific problem for Donkey Kong Country Returns (because we cannot find any other problems like this for SSBM for example).

Thank you and Best

Btw. Here are the two other posts i have done regarding these issues:

2012: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-ne...ed-wiimote
2015: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-dk...lay-issues

We really want to play this game, but kinda wondering why no one else mentions any difficulties. Is there even anyone who was able to play this game via netplay?

Are you absolutely positive you both have the exact same dump of the ISO? Have you both calculated the checksums and made sure they matched exactly?

I am pretty sure we have the same dump, because we got it from the same source. But i will calculate the checksums just in case.

Try messing with the Wiimote configuration. I know this sounds stupid, but our Wiimote Netplay setup is so hacky that you have to configure the other Wiimotes to be identical to the other players configuration (not in terms of buttons, but in terms of upright/sideways, attachment, etc.) It may even apply to Wiimotes 3/4.

We both used the Default settings for Mouse and Keyboard, thus they should also be identical. We also communicated the settings for our Xbox360 Controller so that every setting is identical.
Is there something specific we have to do. Our process so far is:

1. Host has only configured one Emulated Wiimote (no GC, no second Wiimote, nothing)
2. Client also has only configured one Emulated Wiimote.
3. Host is starting the Netplay session and sets itself as Player 1 (In the controller-settings of Netplay. ALL GC controllers are disabled there)
4. Client is joining the session
5. Host is setting up the second Player as Player 2.
6. We start
--> Black screen or desync.

Is there anything planned to tackle the hackyness of this?

Are you using the exact same version of Dolphin with the exact same settings? Also:

You might want to clarify what that means--especially because the md5 you posted earlier does not match the md5 for either NTSC-U or PAL on gameTDB.

Is gameTDB a reliable source? I am wondering, because i have three different checksums for Donkey-Kong so far. And none of those match the ones listed at gameTDB. In fact if i google for the checksums from gameTDB i only get their site as result. What is up with that? How reliable is this information? To be fair: I am getting no result at all if i google any of my checksums (except one).

GameTDB is quite reliable. I would say both you and your friend should re-dump; make sure you're using cleanrip. What do you mean you have three different checksums? It's only one game.
