Using the code in the wiki to disable bloom effects cases the game to hang on an black screen after the wiimote warning screen.

Can somebody reproduce it?

I think this is the same problem as Monster Hunter Tri patches featured in the latest progress report.
Can you try:
80338900 4E800020
803382A0 4E800020
And make sure you have a NTSC-U dump.

Mine is certainly an NTSC-U dump (SF8E01).  I tried your code and it does not make dolphin hang, but it doesn't remove the ghosting around objects in the first lava stage (8-1 "Furious Fire").  I does not look like it is doing anything.
