DJ Hero Turntable - Xbox 360 - Platter Fix?

So I've connected my Xbox360 DJ Hero turntable to my PC and set it up using the built in turntable extension feature (which is awesome that you have that implemented by the way! along with the guitars, drums etc.. REALLY cool Smile.  Anyway I'm assuming this all works fine with the Wii turntable, almost all of the buttons and axis' on the Xbox turntable are easily mapped using the extension. The one big problem is that the platter can't be mapped or detected.

I hooked it up my 360 and loaded up DJ Hero on there to make sure the platter was functioning correctly and it does. After doing some serious digging through the internet, there obviously aren't a lot of people who have encountered this specific problem... lol   but best I can tell the reason for this issue has something to do with the level of sensitivity that's being output by the xbox turntable platter. I'll leave a link to the reddit post, and the fix they found had to do with manually editing the saved .ini controller profile to increase the sensitivity of the platters axis to an extremely high number. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what commands I would use in the ini file to increase the sensitivity for that particular axis?  I've done a lot of experimenting with editing the range and deadzone both through the extension config as well as the .ini directly but haven't had any luck.

I thought it was also worth bringing this to attention, since dolphin already has the built in turntable extension and I'm sure an adjustment to accommodate the xbox turntables could probably be implemented fairly easy once we had a confirmed sensitivity value that will get the platter working. Smile

Thanks for reading my post, and any help with ini setup would be greatly appreciated!

Increasing the "Range" would make it more sensitive. You can try making it a ridiculously large value in the ini file. It should allow extremely large values so long as you don't try to change them in the UI.

The "Turntable" mapping interface could definitely be more friendly to make it clear how fast the emulated table is spinning and such.
I lack the physical hardware so the turntable extension emulation is entirely based off minimal documentation on wiibrew.org.

So maybe try increasing the range dramatically and leave the dead zone at 0, I think that’s one of the things I tried but I can’t remember if I actually tested it that way in game. It’s possible I only checked to see if the extension interface would then detect the use of the platter axis. At the time I wasn’t even sure if the “range” was the same as sensitivity or not. Smile Thanks for the info, I’ll give this a try sometime tonight and report back. In any case I’m glad you’ve incorporated features for the turntable etc.. I feel like some of those peripherals are too often forgotten down the road so thank you!

Well I tried a few different setups with really large numbers, the reddit post I came across I remember someone mentioned 50 BILLION as the sensitivity setting. lol  So I tried that as well as 50,000,000 and then just to check threw on about another 10 zeros in there just to see if it made any difference. Nothing seemed to give any response in game though Sad   There's nothing special I need to do other than edit the ini file and then go load the config inside the controller setup, correct?  Just to make sure I've got the correct commands, I'll post them below.  Any other things I might could try for a possible fix?

Turntable/Table Left/Left/Range = 50000000000.00000000000000

Turntable/Table Left/Right/Range = 50000000000.00000000000000

That should be all. Maybe you could try to make your table work as a GameCube controller analog stick so you can get some feedback in the UI to find a good range.

So no surprise, it turns out sometimes operator error can be the most frustrating problem of all. lol The range setting of 50 billion does effect get the platter working! The reason it wasn't is because I had it set to use the X axis when in fact it should have been set to the Y axis instead. Before I was going off of the very small visual movement of the axis inside windows game controller settings. The platter is almost undetectable though, so I got the axis wrong. Smile All fixed now, hopefully if anybody else trying to use the 360 turntable has this problem then this post will help them.
Thanks for your help Billiard!
