They say they dont like the idea of Discord and just want to use their IRC. I think that's kind of dumb if you ask me, but it's what they're used to and it's their call. It's pretty easy to assign permissions. It's role based largely, besides for when you want it to not be role based. It's their call though. I dont blame them for not wanting to create their own discord bot to funnel the same information their IRC already does for them automatically.

I hope they change their mind on this. I was gonna create my own thread on this but frankly, I think this thread is new enough to justify a bump rather than "yet another discord request thread"

I dont see why they couldn't simply use both and have trusted members of the community manage the discord. They wouldnt even need to discuss business in it. It'd just be a place for the community to help the community that is a live chat service that most people have.
