I just wanted to say something.
Before I wiped the rig I tested some games just for the heck of it and..... nearly all of them was fullspeed all time, including Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

And this was on stock speeds, no OC or nothing. I almost felt right away that the games was 100% smoother then before.

I loved the Sandy Bridge but this thing OH BABY, me like Ivy Bridge even more...

Indeed you have to because it will make you weep, tears of joy that is.
Amazing all I have to say about it and I can't wait to update this thread with some new good info on the games.

OH and the temperatures waged around 42-45 degrees Celsius on Dolphin load.

Well back to work then...

So you'd say an upgrade from sandy would be worthwhile? (In general, not just compared to my relatively poor processor.)
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional

Yeah I think so.
I thought going from a Sandy Bridge i7 2600K to a Ivy Bridge i7 3770K wouldn't do so much for performance but I got shocked when I saw the results, still am so to speak.

And it's so cool too, temperatures is really great and just the way I want them.

Great buy and worth every penny.

I don't see how this would be a good buy at the moment when you said you can already run Mario Galaxy at full speed before with the 2600k. Naturally you're going to say you're happy with it since you bought it, but the actual difference for the price is probably not worth it right now.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

Maybe you're right that a upgrade from one good CPU to another might not be justified at the moment for everybody, but you should know that I'm crazy and do crazy things by now.

Believe me when I say the games runs much much smoother now and that justified it for me instantly.
That Sandy Bridge just had to go...

Wow, Those are some impressive results. Ivy Bridge's looking like the real deal for Dolphin!
