On builds up to 5.0-6094 there is an option that enables external frame buffer (it is disabled by default). But on new versions it's missing. How can I disable external frame buffer on new versions? (it could speed up some games on Honor 8 FRD-L09)
Disabling external frame buffer

There is no way to disable it on the new builds, Immediately Present XFB achieves the same (actually lower) lower latency as XFB dissabled did but it doesn't speed up the emulator as the XFB pipeline is still emulated. Besides, I don't think XFB dissabled gives any significant performance improvement over XFB to Texture only.

The modern equivalent of setting XFB to Disabled is to enable both Store XFB Copies to Texture Only and Immediately Present XFB.

On 5.0-4xxx - 5.0-60xx playing without XFB lets the game Madagascar run 2x faster on Honor 8 FRD-L09. With XFB, that game is slow.
You're mixing things up. Madagascar needs "Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" to be disabled in order to properly display all graphics and disabling this option is what makes emulation more demanding and thus, slower, not the XFB setting. Older Dolphin versions on Android didn't load Game INI settings but current builds does, and this option is enforced on the Game INI of Madagascar...

Oh, so the problem reported in https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-ma...l-glitches was actually reported on 5.0-5xxx and doesn't happen on recent builds? Well, that explains it :/
It's been a while since I played Madagascar, but yes, it required EFB to RAM. The same is also reported on the wiki page of the game as fixed since it's now enabled by default on the game INI...

Well, that explains it :/ the graphic glitch happens everywhere except mmj, on 5.0-11xxx builds also but on honor 8 FRD-L09 in that Madagascar game the left half of the screen is covered with a lilac block (on all new builds official and not) when I use opengl - vulkan is slower for honor 8 it seems that on honor 8 the madagascar game is playable only on 5.0-5xxx builds (the whole screen is visible with OpenGL on those builds) but on new builds I saw: OpenGL - left half of the screen is covered with a lilac block but the speed on MMJ builds is higher, the left half of the screen is still covered Vulkan - the same as on 5.0-5xxx (full screen visible) but the emulation is 2x slower than on 5.0-5xxx |
