Disable Wiimote speaker for passthrough

Hi,
I'm using third party controllers, so I have to use Dolphins passthrough method or else my controllers won't work.
Most games work perfectly fine with this but some don't.
Through some googling I found out that this is somehow related to the wiimote speaker sounds creating lag, which results in the wiimote just disconnecting.

Is there any way to disable the speaker sounds (putting the volume to 0 doesn't work btw) when using passthrough?

Perhaps there are patches for games that disable speaker sound, if there is no way to do it through dolphin settings.

Hope someone can help me out with this.

Setting the Wii Remote speaker volume to 0 is how you're supposed to do it. Are you sure that setting the volume to 0 isn't disabling the speaker audio, or do you just mean that setting the volume to 0 isn't fixing the games that don't work? If it's the latter, it is possible that the reason they don't work isn't the speaker audio.

There is no sound coming out of my wiimote speakers, but I'm not sure if it is actually disabled or just inaudible. Either way the games aren't fixed by turning the volume to 0 and assuming that the speaker audio actually is the problem I would guess that it isn't disabled, but I'm not sure how to verify that.

Since they always disconnect when audio would be about to be played I thought it is safe to assume that this is actually the problem.
The games also work fine if I only use one wiimote.

This usually means that your Bluetooth adapter is unable to handle more than 1 wiimote connection stably... Not much you can do about that except getting a different BT adapter or (even better) creating your own Bluetooth adapter from the one that is inside a Wii (there is a guide on here that I will link if you want to do this) you can order 1 (or more) of these spare adapters cheap from china (aliexpress/Alibaba) and from there on out all you need is a spare usb connector (you can order this from china dirt cheap as well), some thin (insulated) wire, and soldering equipment.
Check my profile for up to date specs.
