Hi all,

Is there a way to disable the scanning of the iso folder when dolphin is started? Sure, it doesn't take too long but what is the need? Can't the list be cached and updated through a manual refresh or something since most of the time the games will not change anyway?

Yeah, it is a bit irritating. Wouldn't mind if it was static like on Project64 and you could refresh it on will rather than automatically.

Perhaps there is a good reason, but normally your gamelist will hardly change so I have no idea what the idea behind it is. A manual refresh would be just fine imo.

Meh... I should learn to program in c++ so I can make my own stuff Wink

They are already cached, actually Smile
(It would be intolerably slow if they weren't)

Really? Can't say I notice any difference between the first time I start dolphin and the next times... Will pay more attention next time hehe.

But what IS it doing then when it scans the folder? (Why is it scannign).

It parses enough of all the disc image(s) to try and ensure they are valid.
And of course to grab nice pictures and information too Smile

Try deleting the files in ./User/Cache if you want to see a difference.
