Hi, when I pause a fullscreen game in Dolphin and alt+tab switch to another window I want Dolphin to continue to show the paused game image in the background.

But instead the Dolphin window becomes completely black. It stays black until I activate the Dolphin window again and press the shortcut to unpause the game.

Is there some setting or other workaround to force Dolphin to continue to show the static image of the paused game?

Does this also happen in the latest dev build?

I noticed it does this as well, but it hasn't bothered me. Currently using Vulkan and borderless fullscreen in the latest build (9335).

I have the issue in this version

Code:
5.0-9320

Branch: master
Revision: d3e1d2ea000412ee40251656c3efa4375e91f092
Haven't used Dolphin in quite some time and a few days ago I installed it anew with what I think was then the latest dev version (above) and then noticed this issue. So I  don't know if this is a recent thing.

I guess I should first ask if this effect where the Dolphin window goes black (after it is paused and focus is switched to another window) is by design och if it is a bug?

If bug, should I post a bug report somewhere?
If by design then is there some optional way to work around it?

Well, I did some quick testing with the unofficial Bisecting tool, and narrowed the problem down to 5.0-7062. Aka the build where QT replaced WX as the default.

What that means, is that it's actually a different build deeper down the QT rabbit hole, if it ever worked that way in the first place. Which means you should check and see if there's a bug report yet or not before submitting one for this issue.

Here's a short video showing the issue. I downloaded 5.0-7060 and 5.0-7062, and ran them in portable mode to verify it wasn't a weird setting: https://youtu.be/18GvOy358Mk

From more testing for this video, I found that this problem does not happen in D3D11, but it does affect OpenGL/Vulkan/software. This might have been why you could not replicate, if you were on D3D11.

Thanks for looking into this. I confirm that I too have the issue in OpenGL but not in D3D11.
