Direct3D11 / Slowdown Issues

Hello. I am new to using a wii emulator, and I am having some severe problems getting my games to run properly. When I load Mario Kart Wii, or New Super Mario Bros Wii, in both cases I get massive slowdown to the point where it is unplayable. I have been able to get it to work "kind of" with direct3D9, but I suffer from a huge loss in quality. When I open in an attempt to use Direct3D11, it says "Dolphin Direct 3D11 Backend - Failed to enumerate outputs. I am currently running Dolphin 4.0.2. which I downloaded from the official website.

My computer specs are as follows:
Intel i7-4700MQ processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M graphics card
12GB DDR3 Ram
Windows 8, 64 bit

What I would like, if possible, is a solution (Whatever it may be) to run the emulator without slowdown, and at least at decent resolution. From all the research I have done online (and I thought Ive done plenty), best I can tell, my computer should have zero problems running this at some of the best settings. So I dont know why it won't run at a reasonable 50-60 fps.

Thanks in advance for any and all help the community can provide.

We have the same specs, so yeah, you do have a problem.

Try these:
1) Upgrade to Windows 8.1. Its a free upgrade
2) Update drivers, Windows updates, DirectX Web updater (some components may be missing), and latest version of Visual C++
3) Make sure under Power Management in Windows you're running in High Performance, and are plugged in to power
4) Use the OpenGL backend on one of the latest dev builds, as it is faster than D3D. The dev builds have speed improvements that 4.0.1/4.0.2 don't have (but they have some extra bugs that are being fixed before the next major release). The current dev build is 4.0-658 (which actually makes the default backend OpenGL).

Thanks for the suggestions. Its quite late here right now, but tomorrow I will try doing all the things you mentioned that I have not already done. Once Ive attempted them, if there is still an issue I will post back here.

Select Intel Graphics in Dolphin Graphics Settings and assign Dolphin to High-Performance Mode in NVIDIA Control Panel.

When you're still getting slowdowns enable EFB to Texture while playing the game.

Don't forget to check your CPU/GPU temperatures and clock rates for signs of throttling. That's the issue 80% of the time that users report this happening to them.

Thank you everybody for the advice. Ive fixed the major issues with the help of your posts. The games are now playable. I cant find how to enable to EFB texture while Im playing the games..Now its a simple problem of occassional minor slowdown while I'm playing games, but theyre mostly playable. Im not sure whats left to improve the gameplay but hopefully I get it running in pristine condition soon. Thanks again everybody.
