metroid prime is a very problematic game. it may not be the ogl plugin. have u tried any other games?

edit: i read your other posting, and i saw that wind waker is having the same problem. i know theres a problem with wind waker hanging with a black screen because of sound issues, not video. supposedly they are close to a fix in the latest revs.

I have both Metroid Primes and they work just well, except 2nd randomly crashes ingame. No problems so far. See if you have Anti-Aliasing enabled and try to disable it Smile

its disabled. i never enable...i dont think its even in my graphic card as enabled...lol idk wat it does but it never works... i just hope that if they do make one for direct X 10 that it will be able to handle a safe texture cache... also direct x 9 and 10 are two diff softwares...thts why they cant be run together yet. lol

I bet if the dolphin team could figure out how to emulate direct X 9 and 10 together in one plugin then the open gl would get blown out of the water by it...lol i mean direct x 10 can handle alot of games on its own and 10 is an upgrade from that sort of and they are two diff softwares for gameplay so together would be dominants

Yes, you think that dx 9 or 10 would be better. The performance would be better, but Dolphin has no high requirements for a graphics card. So this is no argument.

The developers had their reasons when they decided to use openGL. E.g. it runs on Linux and MacOS (What Dx doesn't do, because it's from Microsoft)

well...ugh dammit!! lol i wish the open GL plugin would work for once with my computer then...lol but it would be a good thing to at least make a direct3d10 for those of us that are limited to it....

if the ogl plugin wasnt working u would recieve an error message. try nosounds fix and test other games that u have to see if they will work. like i said metroid is a tricky one to make work.

people that need the dx9 plugin don't have computers that are strong enough for playable frames in dolphin anyways.
