Question
Hi people!
I'm using Windows Seven 32bits at the moment.
I made a little search but didn't find my answer so i'm asking here. As i'm trying to play tatsunoko vs capcom i saw that the build r4986 was one of the best for this game, using D3D plugin for grafics.
But in the setting i just can find OpenGL or software. I assume this is because i'm on seven which use DX10? Is there a way to force it to use DX9 like for pc game?

Also i noticed that my game is cap to 50Hz, and i put "enable pal60" in setting.
My game is PAL version, dunno if it's the cause (is the pal version on wii still cap to 50Hz like on dreamcast?)

Thanks for your answer.Blush

You can find this information in the 'getting started with dolphin' thread you know...

Anyway, you need the DX9 runtime installed for this to work.

Win7 runs DX11 natively. It includes all possible previous runtimes (dll files) that can be obtained. If you try installing the DX9 runtime it will just quit installer and say you already have the latest files. I always ran dolphin with standard win7 64-bit files without installing anything.

The problem is that some custom dolphin builds don't have DX9 plugin included. Dolphin does not check what version of directX or windows system files you have when listing options. It reads your plugin directory of dolphin & sees if there is a file called Plugin_VideoDX9.dll, and if that does not exist, it only lists software and openGL plugins.

That's what i tought, but Roger525 was right!
I tryed before 2 diferent builds and it was not possible to select D3D mode in plugins options, and the d3d plugin was present in the directory.
I made the DX update and now it works i have access to the plugin, no more glitch on tatsunoko vs capcom. Thank you Roger!

Now i have to make it run at 60Hz, i still have stable 50Hz don't know why...Sad
Anyone know how to launch the wii "bios" (i mean like if i put the wii on but with no game inserted, to configure it 60Hz inside)

What build of dolphin doesn't include a dx9 plugin? Link?

I think you might need to do some more research, the latest unified redistributable packages for Direct X 11 and previous ones does update Windows 7 direct x. Best way to confirm it is via running the Web Updater variant. Of course a game you have purchased may have included and installed the latest version for you during the setup process which would explain why when you checked, nothing got updated.

The emulator does indeed only check for plugins but the plugins themselves have some dependencies which must also be met before they will be loaded by the emulator.

Are you sure this is a PAL60 game? A lot of PAL-Games are not supposed to run in 60Hz.In most games you have the option to run in 50 or 60Hz.
A lot games give you the option if you hold the B-Button already BEFORE your the game starts.
If this doesn't help, the game is simply not done for running in 60Hz
